Rotate PDF
Fix sideways or upside-down pages — rotate one page or the whole document, right in your browser.
100% private — your PDF is rendered into thumbnails and rotated entirely on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server, not even temporarily.
Drag & drop a PDF here
One PDF at a time. Every page renders as its own thumbnail with rotate buttons.
Long PDFs render one page at a time — if your browser slows down on a very large document, give it a moment to finish.
How it works
Add your PDF
Drag and drop it in, or click "Choose file" — every page renders as a thumbnail.
Rotate what needs it
Use a page's own rotate buttons, or "rotate all" for the whole document at once.
Apply and download
Get a new PDF with your rotations baked in — the original file is never modified.
What people use a PDF rotator for
A sideways page is a small problem, but an annoying one to live with.
Fixing a sideways phone scan
Correcting a mis-scanned batch
Turning a landscape photo page upright
Preparing a document for printing
Making a PDF readable before sending
Why PDF pages end up sideways in the first place
A page usually ends up rotated for one of two reasons: a scanner fed the paper in landscape when the document is portrait (or vice versa), or a PDF was assembled from pages that came from different sources with different orientations. Either way, the fix has nothing to do with the page's actual content — it's a single rotation flag stored alongside each page, and this tool changes only that flag.
Rotation here is genuinely per-page and accumulates cleanly: click "rotate right" on a page and it turns 90° clockwise; click it three more times and it's back to where it started, since every rotation wraps around at 360°. That means there's no risk of ending up with a page stuck at some odd in-between angle — it's always a clean 0/90/180/270.
"Rotate all" is a shortcut for the common case where an entire scanned document came in sideways, applying the same turn to every page in one click instead of clicking through each one individually. Mixing the two is fine too — rotate all pages once, then fine-tune one or two pages individually afterward if a couple came in at a different angle than the rest.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is read, rendered into page thumbnails, and rotated entirely inside your own browser. Nothing is ever sent to a server, not even temporarily.
Can I rotate just one page instead of the whole document?
Yes. Each page thumbnail has its own rotate-left and rotate-right buttons, so you can fix a single sideways page without touching the rest of the document. "Rotate all" is also available when every page needs the same turn.
What if I click rotate too many times?
Rotation accumulates and wraps around cleanly — four 90° clicks in the same direction bring a page right back to where it started, so there's no way to get a page stuck at an odd angle.
Does rotating change anything else about the PDF?
No. Only the page's rotation/orientation metadata changes — the text, images and formatting on the page itself are untouched.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Not directly — an encrypted PDF needs to be unlocked first, since this tool can't read a file it doesn't have the password for. Remove the password in whatever program originally protected it, then rotate the unlocked file.
Is this PDF rotator free to use?
Yes, completely free, with no account or sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser.
