Etsy Fee Calculator
See your real per-sale profit after Etsy's listing fee, transaction fee, payment processing and Offsite Ads — updated live as you type.
Enter your item price and shipping charge below — the 6.5% transaction fee applies to both, which is the detail most new sellers miss.
Offsite Ads fee is modeled as additive to the transaction fee. Etsy's own documentation is the authority — verify at the official link below for your account.

The two things that catch new Etsy sellers off guard
The first is shipping. Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee — and the 3% payment processing fee — are both calculated on your item price plus whatever you charge the buyer for shipping, not just the item price. A $30 item with $5 shipping is charged fees on $35, not $30. Sellers who price a listing assuming fees only apply to the item price consistently underestimate what they'll actually keep, especially on items where shipping is a large share of the total charge.
The second is Offsite Ads. Etsy can place your listing in ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms, and if a sale comes through one of those placements, an additional fee applies — 15% for shops under $10,000 in trailing 365-day sales, 12% for shops above that threshold. Below the $10,000 mark you can opt out entirely; above it, participation becomes mandatory for eligible listings. Sources disagree on whether this fee stacks on top of the regular transaction fee or replaces it — this calculator treats it as additive, the more conservative assumption, and shows the disclosure above so you know to double-check against your own account's fee page.
Multi-quantity listings add a smaller but real cost: every unit sold from a listing with more than one available renews the listing with another $0.20 fee, on top of whatever transaction and processing fees that sale generates. It's easy to model a multi-quantity listing as costing the same per unit as a single-quantity one — it doesn't, quite.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Etsy take from a $100 sale?
On a simple $100 sale with no shipping charge, Etsy's mandatory fees come to about $9.95: a $0.20 listing fee, a $6.50 transaction fee (6.5%), and $3.25 in payment processing (3% + $0.25). That's before any Offsite Ads fee, which only applies if that specific sale came from an Offsite Ads placement.
Do Etsy fees include shipping?
Yes — this is the most common mistake new sellers make. The 6.5% transaction fee is charged on the item price PLUS whatever shipping you charge the buyer, not just the item price. Payment processing (3% + $0.25) is calculated the same way.
Can I opt out of Offsite Ads?
Only if your shop has done less than $10,000 in sales over the trailing 365 days. Below that threshold, Offsite Ads is opt-in/opt-out and costs 15% when it applies. At $10,000 or more in trailing sales, Offsite Ads becomes mandatory for eligible orders and drops to 12%, but you can no longer turn it off.
What is the Etsy listing fee?
A flat $0.20 charged per item listed, lasting up to 4 months or until the item sells, whichever comes first. Multi-quantity listings are charged another $0.20 renewal for each unit sold to keep the listing active, and digital downloads pay the same $0.20 per sale.
Does Offsite Ads replace the transaction fee?
No — this calculator models it as additive, stacking on top of the regular 6.5% transaction fee, which is the more conservative (higher-fee) assumption when sources disagree. Etsy's own account-specific documentation is the authoritative source.
How is the break-even price calculated?
It's the minimum item price (holding your shipping charge fixed) at which your revenue covers your cost of goods and every fee that applies, with zero profit left over.
Is this Etsy fee calculator free to use?
Yes, completely free, with no account or sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser.
